Matt was driving down the road one day when he spotted something moving in the middle of the street. As he got closer, he realized it was a tiny kitten.
“She was crawling in the street in an area only surrounded by woods so she was either born there and the mother didn’t get to transfer the whole litter or someone just dumped her,” he said.
He knew he couldn’t just leave her there, so he stopped his truck, scooped her up, and took her home.
The poor kitten was covered in fleas, so Matt took her to the vet the next day to see if they could get rid of them. As soon as they got in the car, it was clear this precious kitten felt very safe and comfortable in her new home – she curled up in the console and instantly fell asleep!
“I found a stray that snores as loud as a train!” Matt laughed. “I didn’t have the heart to wake her up when I got home so I just sat there quietly with the radio off for about an hour until she woke up.”
It’s clear this sleepy little kitten has got ahold of Matt’s heart, but unfortunately he’s very allergic to cats so he knew he couldn’t keep her. He wasn’t about to let her go to any old home, though!
“I actually interviewed two people who wanted her and told the first person no because the living situation didn’t sound like it would be good for her,” he said.
Thankfully he was able to find the kitten a good home with a family who has another rescue cat. And we’re sure that, even though she doesn’t still live with Matt, she will be forever in his heart.
