Eddie Scott couldn’t be any prouder of his daughter, Ella. Since she was young Eddie has been trying to teach her to look out for those who are less fortunate than her, and what he captured on a recent daddy-daughter dinner proves that his lessons have stuck.
As they ate Ella noticed a homeless man sitting on a bench outside. As she looked at the food piled on the plate in front of her, she decided that he needed it more than she did, so she asked her dad if she could take her plate outside to the man.
Eddie was so proud to see Ella’s kind and compassionate spirit, and he filmed her as she walked outside and approached the man.
“My girl right here,” he said, “I love her to bits.”
When Ella came back to the table with a big smile on her face, Eddie told her, “Ella, you’re amazing. I think you just made his day. I think you just made his week.”
Then he asked her, “How does that make you feel?”
“I like it,” she replied.
Since Eddie shared his video of the sweet encounter it has been viewed and shared thousands of times. As nice as it is to see Ella’s act of kindness go viral, though, he’s just happy to know that his daughter has taken his lessons to heart.
“This was a great opportunity to show her it is important to give back to the community, especially to those less fortunate,” he said. “It made her feel good and it made me feel good too. I’m proud of her.”
