When five-time NBA All-Star Chris Webber married the woman of his dreams, Erika, in 2009, the two were excited for their future together and couldn’t wait to grow their family.
After years of struggling to get pregnant though, doctors told the heartbroken couple they might never be able to have children of their own.
That’s a devastating thing for any couple to hear, but the Webbers continued to pray and hope that one day they might have a family of their own.
Now, unexpectedly, the couple has revealed that their prayers have been answered!
Last week, Chris and Erika each shared pictures of their little miracles – a little boy and a little girl – on their Instagram pages.
“After many years of trying and more than a few heartbreaks we were blessed with these little ones. #godsgrace#worththewait thank you @mrserikawebber,” Chris captioned a photo of him holding a twin in each hand.
Erika shared a sweet photo of the whole family spending some special time together.
“Grateful… 7 years waiting for our family to grow, and we were double blessed,” she wrote. “Never underestimate the power of prayer, even when ‘they’ tell you it’s impossible… All in his time. Thank you to all of our family and friends and even strangers who shared our journey and kept us encouraged.”
In a recent interview with Esquire, Chris shared how the couple’s life has changed for the better since they welcomed their little bundles of joy.
“It’s taken the edge off,” he said. “It’s just something my wife and I have been praying for and working toward for years.”
“[I]t’s amazing just seeing something that’s your own grow and develop,” he added. “I’m just in awe. I’m just happy. Most days is laughing and crying at the fact that something like this happened.”
