National Ice Cream Day, one of the few food holidays actually worth celebrating, is Sunday, July 17th. And just like last year, several big chains all across the country are celebrating by serving up free scoops and other giveaways. Although some of the deals — like ice cream flavors — are sweeter than others, there’s a strong chance your favorite ice cream will be dripping down your hand in no time.
Here’s our running list of free ice cream deals and other promotions from several popular chains:
Free ice cream deals
Carvel
The deal: Buy any size soft serve ice cream cone or cup and get a second for free at participating Carvel locations.
When: All day, July 17th.
Cumberland Farms
The deal: Score a free Farmhouse Premium Ice Cream Sandwich when you buy a 20oz Pepsi or Mountain Dew. However, we must say this would be a strange combination.
When: Now through Sept. 6th.
Uber
The deal: OK, so this one is a little different, folks. This year, Uber is celebrating the sweet occasion a few days early (on Friday) with a massive global promotion called UberIceCream. If you’re in a city where UberEats is available (NYC, for example), you can request a delivery of free Magnum ice cream bars via the UberEats app. If you’re not in an UberEats city, the company is offering ice cream deliveries in 400 cities around the world, but you’ll have to pay for it. When: July 15th, 11am-3pm.
Marble Slab Creamery
The deal: Buy an ice cream cone and get another one free at participating locations.
When: July 17th until 1pm.
Cold Stone Creamery
The deal: Cold Stone will give you a buy one, get one coupon when you sign up for itsonline rewards program. The coupon is good for a free ice cream “creation” when you buy one, but the creamery notes it may take about 24 hours after you sign up before you get it.
When: All the time.
PetSmart
The deal: Even your dog can get its paws on some free ice cream this year. PetSmart will be handing out free “Doggie Ice Cream Sundaes” at all of its PetSmart PetsHotel locations. The treat is made with dog-safe vanilla soft serve with dog biscuits sprinkled on top.
When: July 17th.

Baskin-Robbins
The deal: Just like last year, the purveyor of 31 flavors will give you a free waffle cone upgrade when you buy a double scoop of your flavor of choice.
