These golfers got the shock of a lifetime when they looked up from their tees to see a massive alligator taking a casual stroll across the golf course.
Golfer Charles Helms was playing a round at the Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto, Florida, when this behemoth walked by. He whipped out his phone and started filming, and the footage has since gone viral.
When another man who was trying to get a shot of the gator steps into Helms’ camera’s view, you can get a sense of how enormous this alligator truly it.
The biggest alligator ever recorded in Florida was 14 feet long and 780 pounds. Some think this gator could be even bigger – perhaps 15 to 16 feet long.
Wendy Schofield, an employee of the golf course, said, “People have heard that he is out here and that is all they want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture. He doesn’t bother anybody and they don’t bother him, he’s like a mascot for the course.”
While some are claiming that this is all a hoax and the gator is the product of some CGI animation, news sources and the golfers who have seen him claim this gator is the real deal.
