She Goes To Mall With Blind Sister, But Then She Notices Where Clever Guide Dog Is Taking Owner

I had a guide dog for over ten years. This story totally resonates with me. My pooch used to pull the same sly little tricks as Thai. But despite their scheming ways, these dogs still get the job done.

Danielle Sykora was introduced to her guide dog, Thai, four years ago. Since then, Thai has his own ideas of what his job involves. He’s unafraid to go after what he wants, especially if treats are included. This usually means bending the rules of his occupation just a bit.

Danielle and Thai love heading home to New Jersey for the weekends. She’s a student at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Danielle and her sister, Michele, love heading to the mall for a little shopping. Thai on the other hand, has his own agenda once they arrive.

On one particular trip, Danielle’s dad accompanied her and Thai to the mall. He noticed a pet supply store called Cool Dog Gear; Danielle was unaware of it, but Thai loved visiting this store.

“The first time my sister ever went to this mall, she was with my dad, and Thai just veered right into the store without her knowing,” Michele told The Dodo. “The second time we went back there, I wanted to witness it for myself, so we walked in the direction of the pet store, and of course he walked right in there again!”

Michele had her phone ready to catch Thai in action if he was going to pull one of his tricks. She posted this on Twitter. It has since gone viral. “My sisters guide dog always sneakily walks her into this store without her knowing ?? I love dogs, man.

Despite getting caught, Thai has no remorse for leading Danielle astray. “If there is any word to describe Thai, it is probably ‘foodie,’” Michele said. “He will do anything to get a crumb on the floor.”

Danielle wasn’t at all surprised by her pup’s antics. She’s used to it. It’s not the first time he’s done this. At school, he’ll guide her into Starbucks because he knows she loves coffee. Plus, there’s always a Puppuccino waiting for him. One time at the boardwalk, Thai took Danielle to all the stores that sold food. She was there to shop for clothes. Silly boy!
