A photographer captured the pure love between 23-year-old Edmilson Alcantara and his 28-year-old fiancée, Karine De Souza. The pictures have touched millions of people worldwide.
Daniel Panisson Fotografia shared a stunning gallery showcasing the couple in a woodland setting. The gallery is presented with the caption:

Pannisson says their meeting was a meeting of souls who saw each other as they really are regardless of appearances.

De Souza, from Fortaleza, Brazil, was diagnosed with a rare inherited non-contagious disease called Xeroderma pigmentosum, commonly known as XP. The condition makes De Souza’s skin extremely sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) rays from sunlight. There is no cure, but those with the disease can receive treatment to help.
Edmilson, 23, a native of Ceará, fell in love with De Souza, seeing past her skin condition to her kind and loving heart. The pictures speak far louder than any words could about the close bond they share.
Edmilson was impressed with De Souza’s strong personal faith which has given her confidence and optimism despite her daily battles with XP. She’s comfortable in the skin she’s in.
The photographer explained how much their love story has inspired him.

He hopes that their story will inspire others to learn to embrace life as it is without complaint and to live each day fully.
