A Texas family is praising God after their daughter’s rare and inoperable brain tumor miraculously disappeared for reasons that have stumped doctors.
According to reports, Last June, 11-year -old Roxli Doss, of Hays County, Texas, was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) after displaying symptoms that included headaches, nausea, and double vision.
The Boston’s Children Hospital website explains that DIPG is a highly-aggressive and difficult-to-treat tumor that manifests at the base of the brain. Needless to say, Roxli’s outlook wasn’t encouraging.
According to Dr. Virginia Harrod, one of Roxli’s doctors at Dell Children’s Medical Center, the little girl’s diagnosis was unanimous.
“At Dell Children’s, Texas Children’s, at Dana-Farber, at John Hopkins, and MD Anderson, all agreed it was DIPG.”
She also points out that Roxli’s disease is very rare and deadly.
“It is a devastating disease. You have decreased ability to swallow, sometimes vision loss, decreased ability to talk, eventually difficulty with breathing.”

Despite the odds, Roxli endured 11 weeks of grueling radiation therapy to fight the tumor, while her family started a GoFundMe Page to assist in covering the medical bills.
After starting the fundraising page, the only thing her loved ones could do is turn to God.
Her parents understood that it was very likely that they would lose their little girl to this insidious disease. So they sent their prayers to the man above in the hope of a miracle.
Beads of Courage…. Rox was excited today to get to pick all her beads!!!Each represents something different… radiation, mri, blood draws, hospital stays, etc…. Her story is good, God is good!!!

“The doctors guide us, but really the true guidance that we’re looking for is from God because that’s who we need our help from right now, and we’re really just praying for a miracle,” said Scott.
What happened next astounded Roxli’s doctors. An MRI in September revealed that Roxli was utterly cancer-free, and the tumor had vanished entirely.
The big man upstairs delivered.
“When I first saw Roxli’s MRI scan, it was actually unbelievable. The tumor is undetectable on the MRI scan, which is really unusual,” Dr. Harrod confirmed.

Roxli’s parents know in their hearts that God lent a helping hand in curing their daughter.

Roxli is now undergoing precautionary treatments such as immunotherapy, a treatment designed to help the body fight cancer, to make sure that all cancer cells are purged from her brain.
In a statement to Global News, Dr. Harrold stated:
“We are cautiously optimistic and will continue to monitor her on a regular basis along with the joy of celebrating in her recovery.”
