First Lady, Melania Trump loves children. She’s always interacted with them on official engagements, and yesterday while at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, she again proved how much she enjoyed being around them. She and President Trump were in Ohio for President Trump’s speech at Sheffer Corp.

Melania stayed at the hospital for two hours. While there, she watched a presentation on Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, (NAS), which affects babies born addicted to opioids or heroin. She walked the concourse before heading into the playroom where she met a group of boys playing the board game, Sorry.

“Show me how to do this,” she requested of them.

Cole Baughman, a second-grader, has been a patient at the hospital since birth. He told Melania he and his parents, Nathan and Megan and his sister planned on visiting Washington D.C… The First Lady told him “Make sure you come visit me when you come to D.C.”

“She was really interested in the kids,” Nathan said. “She was pleasant with Megan and I, but she got down at the kids’ level and was really talking to both of them.”

The moment where the First Lady’s maternal instincts shone through was when a little girl ran up to her with outstretched arms. This is a clear sign a child wants to be picked up. Melania obliged, holding the little one for a bit.

Before leaving, she presented every child with a personalized Valentine’s Day card. She signed the cards that contained a drawing of the White House on them.

No matter your political preferences, this experience will be one neither the children nor the adults present will ever forget. It’s so sweet to see Melania’s authenticity and care with the smallest near her.
