Sweet words are good for the soul. I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say that nothing changes a day, mood, or situation like hearing something nice and encouraging. Very few men or women would ever turn away compliments or confessions of another’s love and adoration towards them. We just love it!
Imagine going a long period of time without being able to clearly and audibly hear how someone feels about you or how beautiful you are or how grateful someone is for you. As sad as that may sound to some of us, this is a reality for those who have partial or complete loss of hearing.
Thank God there have been procedures and instruments that have helped bring restoration to the condition. The stories and videos of them are so heartwarming.
The video below is absolutely my favorite. I actually cried!
One woman was in the doctor’s office, finally getting a chance to listen to the world around her. She hadn’t been able to hear comprehensibly, and all of that was about to change.
Her doctor activated the device and she was immediately brought to tears! It was beautiful. Her mother sat nearby excited for her daughter. “Can you hear my voice okay?” she asked.
“Yes,” the young lady cried.
But that’s not even the best part! Also in the room was the woman’s boyfriend!
“Can you hear me?” he confirmed one last time.
“Yeah, it sounds funny,” she replied.
His next words melted my heart with admiration.
“I wanted to make one of the first things that you hear…” Then he pulled a small box out of his pocket and got down on one knee.
Shock and joy were written all over her face.
“Because I love you so much,” he continued. “And you’re my best friend, baby. I wanted to make the first thing you hear is me asking you to marry me.”
Through her sobbing she managed to answer, “Yes! Te amo.”
The couple kissed and hugged as the doctor and her mother stood by. “I got a ring!” she exclaimed.
Honestly, this was one of the sweetest and most thoughtful proposals I have ever seen. I am so happy that in one day she regained her hearing and got a fiancee.
Wherever she is, we are praying the best in her life and in her marriage. Congratulations to the both of you!
You can watch the beautiful video below. Try not to cry as much as I did!
