Wild stallion Champ was grazing along the bank of the Salt River in Arizona’s Tonto National Forest with his family when a neighboring family of horses arrived on the opposite bank.

Curious, the horses watched each other and a few began to cross the river to meet each other, but as they did so one young filly was swept up in the current and began to drown.
