It’s just hard to beat military reunions. After a child or sibling or parent or spouse has been deployed for so long, the special moment that the family is finally reunited is enough to bring tears to the eyes of even the toughest person. The only thing that can make these reunions even better is when they are a surprise.
That is exactly what happens in this video recently shared on YouTube. In the description, the poster wrote that his brother had been able to return home early from Afghanistan, so they decided to surprise their mom with his homecoming.
Pretending to be the pizza delivery guy, the returning soldier walked up to his parents’ house and rang the doorbell. After what felt like forever, his mom finally answered the door, and her reaction was well worth the surprise!
It took her a minute to figure out what was going on and get over her initial shock, but once she realized it wasn’t a dream, she grabbed her son in a huge hug and wouldn’t let him go.
