With a simple piece of paper and a $10 bill, a retired Marine let a disabled Vietnam veteran know that his sacrifice is appreciated with a nice surprise.

A U.S. Army veteran from Katy, Texas, who remains unidentified, posted a photo on Reddit of a note and a crinkled bill left on his windshield that made his day earlier this month.

“Lunch is on me, soldier!” the note read. “Thank you for your dedicated service.”

The note was signed by “a retired Marine chopper pilot – Semper Fi.”
