Reading is not only fun; it’s good for our imaginations. Books are available digitally now, so you don’t need to carry bound tomes with you any longer unless you enjoy holding something tangible in your hands. One stray pup from Brazil apparently loves the past time because he shoplifted a book from a bookstore at Feevale University.

The four-legged thief has a taste for novels. He stole one titled The Days Of Abandonment, A Story About A Dog Being Left Behind.

Bookstore staff didn’t notice the canine culprit until they browsed their surveillance footage. The video of the crafty canine has been viewed and shared millions of times, prompting rescuers to seek him out.

A student returned the book. The sweet boy already has a place in a foster family. He ran away, so he was found near the campus bookstore and taken to a vet for a checkup by rescuers.

After receiving a clean bill of health, he was released into the care of a foster family who would keep a proper eye on him. Thanks to his keen sensibilities and reading tastes, this pup is now ready for a forever home.

I couldn’t conjure up a sweeter ending to this story.
