Sarah Clark and her fiance can’t wait to welcome their first child in January, but they have been a little worried about how they will make ends meet. As a waitress Sarah won’t receive any paid time off once the baby comes, and her fiance will be temporarily out of work due to a knee surgery.
Then a customer did something that left the couple absolutely stunned, and it couldn’t have come at a better time!
Sarah was waiting on a woman who had been in the restaurant before. The two of them had struck up a conversation because they have something in common right now – they are both pregnant.
After the customer left Sarah picked up the check and when she looked at it she couldn’t believe her eyes. The woman had left her a $900 tip!
“This is God’s money,” the woman wrote. “He gave it to us so we could give it to you. God bless.”
“I couldn’t believe what I was looking at at first because it was such a high amount,” Sarah said. “Nine hundred dollars is a lot of money. It took a while for it to set in, and once it did I cried for a little while.”
Sarah said she has heard of things like this happening to other people, but never thought it would happen to her. She said the money will help more than the generous customer could ever imagine.
“I don’t know if she really understands how much this is going to help us this season,” Sarah said. “Me being on maternity leave and him being out of work, we’re not going to be making any income. So this is really going to help with rent and other bills and things like that.”
