Imagine living your whole life in a tiny, dirty pen. You’ve never seen the sun or felt a cool breeze blow on your face on a hot day. Your entire life is filled with darkness, stench, and fear.

Hope Apple Blossom doesn’t have to imagine it. She and her six piglets lived their whole lives in a slaughterhouse. That is until they were rescued by Viva!, an organization in the U.K. dedicated to ending animal suffering, and Dean Farm Animal Sanctuary.

Hope belonged to a farmer who was ending his pig breeding business. Since he didn’t need the pigs anymore, the piglets were going to be sent to slaughter.

When Viva! found out about Hope’s sad situation, they knew they had to help. They adopted Hope and all six of her piglets and brought them to a farm where they will be able to live out their lives in peace.

The moment the pigs discover the outdoors for the first time is one that, once you see it, you will never be able to forget. Their absolute joy as they race around the yard and start foraging in the mud will melt your heart.

Viva! says Hope has already proven herself to be a very dedicated mother. She has different calls for each of her babies and is very protective of them all.

We are so happy that Hope and her family will have the opportunity to live out the rest of their lives in peace!

Were you happy to see Hope and her babies finally free? So share this!
