When some people drove by this quiet neighborhood in Lincoln County, Missouri, and noticed a woman mowing the lawn while her husband watched, they may have been tempted to judge this man. What kind of lazy husband would force his wife to labor in the yard while he just watched?

But those people don’t know the whole story. Adam Bosler snapped a picture of the couple and shared it on Facebook, and the story he wrote to go with the photo is one of the sweetest I’ve heard in a while.

You see, the couple is Ryan and Jessica Armistead, friends of Adam’s. What you can’t tell from the picture is that Ryan is sick. As he patiently waits for a kidney transplant that he desperately needs, he goes to dialysis three times a week.

Most people would understand if Ryan just wanted to relax and take it easy, but Adam writes that the police officer and active member of his community “strives STILL to be what every man should be.”

That day Ryan had gone outside to mow the lawn. He was exhausted but determined to keep going. However, when Jessica noticed that he was not doing well, she rushed to change her clothes and went out to relieve him.

Ryan wasn’t about to let her take over his job without a fight. Even though he handed over the mower, he insisted on walking beside Jessica as she made her way back and forth across the lawn.

“I think every husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend could really learn from this,” Adam wrote. “No matter what, they’re side by side, helping one another and never leaving the other one behind. If there’s anything I can learn from these good friends, it’s the loyalty they put forth together.”

Thousands of people have been touched by the love and loyalty displayed by the Armisteads and many have written to Adam asking how they can help. He decided to set up a YouCaring page to raise money to purchase a riding lawnmower for the hardworking couple.

“THIS IS NOT A REQUEST from the Armisteads,” Adam noted. “Theyre actually sleeping at the moment and have no clue ?? I’ll deal with them tomorrow ??. This is a very hard working family and simply a request from people wanting an opportunity to do something nice for such an amazing family.”

They certainly deserve it!
