Guy Comes Home To A Random Cat That His Dog Invited In And Begged To Keep

It’s not uncommon for children to come home with a kitten or puppy and say “pleaseeeee mommy/daddy, can we keep it?” But what happens when it’s your dog who wants a pet? Imgur user squishiepeachies had just that experience when his dog Crosby decided that he needed someone to play with and keep him company.

Crosby has always loved other animals, his owner says. It wasn’t long ago that he had to say goodbye to two animals he loved, a cat and a dog, who had been his companions since he was only eight weeks old. Because of this, Crosby had become noticeably depressed.

At first, Crosby’s owner thought he was mostly OK with being the only pet in the house, but when the man came home one day, he was met with a huge shock. Crosby had adopted a kitten. Instead of his usual excited greeting, Crosby led him straight to the bathtub, where the owner found this:

“I’ve never seen this kitten before, and although I do have a doggy door, it’s way too high off the ground for this little baby to have snuck in,” the dog’s caretaker wrote. “It seems to me that Crosby must have brought her inside.”

Even more interestingly, this kitten looks eerily like Crosby’s former friend and roomie kitten who had departed.

After taking the kitten to the vet, Crosby’s owner found out that the kitten is about four months old. She had been spayed recently, but not microchipped. Crosby’s person asked around the neighborhood, but no one had any knowledge of a cat. Where did Crosby get this kitten?

Crosby’s owner has a doggie door, but he says it’s way too tall for the kitten to have crawled in. He suspects that Crosby brought the kitten inside himself!

Knowing that the shelter was over-capacity already and that this kitten’s fate would be grim if left there, Crosby and his owner cheerfully took the kitten home.
