Divorce is hard on everyone involved, and it can have long-reaching effects. When there are children involved, the pain of divorce may stay with them into adulthood and for the rest of their lives.
Professional dancers and siblings Derek and Julianne Hough know this all too well. Their parents divorced in 1999, when Julianne was 10 and Derek was just barely a teenager.
Even though they have grown up and gone on to have incredibly successful careers, the pain of the divorce stays with them, as evidenced by this gut-wrenching dance they performed on “Dancing with the Stars” recently.
Actors portrayed their parents and the pair as children as the siblings danced across the stage, their emotions evident throughout, especially when Julianne burst into tears at the end.
