A clothing boutique in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania shared a beautiful moment with their customers on their Facebook page on June 16, Father’s Day. The video was shared an astonishing 209K times at the time of this writing.
Nevaeha Smith wanted to attend her 8th grade formal and had the perfect outfit in mind from the boutique. The cost was pricey at almost $200. When she asked her father about it, he wasn’t sure he would be able to afford it.
“I looked at the price and I said, ‘Ah. I’m not really sure but I’ll see what I can do,” said Ricky Smith.
The hard-working dad was working three jobs in the food industry to try to keep up with all the bills.
Nevaeha let go of her dream of wearing the dress, but then her dad gave her a big surprise.
When she visited him at one of his jobs, he presented her with a garment bag and slowly unzipped it to show her what was inside. He told her that it came from her grandmother.
“When he said it was from my Grandma, I was thinking, “Ah, this is going to be an old lady dress,” recalled Nevaeha.
The video shows the exact moment when Nevaeh realizes her dad has bought her the dress she picked out after all.
Her genuine look of surprise and astonishment, followed by heartfelt gratitude and a very long hug makes this video truly special.

It may have just been a dress, but to her, it meant the world, especially coming from her loving dad.
