The gift of hearing is one people often take for granted if they have it. You don’t realize how much you rely on hearing – and how much you would miss out on if you didn’t have it – until you lose it.
You wouldn’t know the peaceful sound of a wave crashing on the shore, of the relaxing drum of rain against a roof, or the happy chirp of a bird’s song.
Perhaps most difficult would never being able to hear the sound of a loved one’s voice. I think that’s what makes videos of people gaining their sense of hearing for the first time so touching.
Such is the case with this sweet video. Baby Hunter has suffered from a hearing impairment since birth. Thankfully for him, though, medical science has advanced to the point where he could get special hearing aids that would correct his impairment.
