This season of America’s Got Talent has seen some incredible performances, especially among young performers, like 13-year-old Laura Bretan and 12-year-old Grace VanderWaal.
But now those two are going to be facing some serious competition in the form of 12-year-old Kadie Lynn Roberson.
The Texas pre-teen took the stage wearing a fun and funky dress, a pair of cowboy boots, and the confidence and poise of someone much older.
As her mom and dad waited nervously in the wings, Kadie Lynn opened her mouth and proved that they had absolutely nothing to be worried about!
The young girl chose to sing the Merle Haggard classic, “Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Star,” and her voice had the power and maturity of a seasoned country singer.
As soon as she started to sing, judge Simon Cowell’s eyes went wide, and one by one each of the judges broke into big smiles, knowing they had just found someone very special.
“This show is a bit like mining for talent,” Simon said after. “We dig, and we dig, and we find a diamond and that’s what we found today. Your voice is so mature and so real. I’m so impressed.”
Unsurprisingly, Kadie Lynn received four “yeses” from the judges. We can’t wait to follow her on the show this season – there’s no doubt this girl’s a star!
